The following minimum qualifications for vessel positions are required to be considered for a position on our team:
- Valid driver’s license
- Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC)
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to pass a background Check
- Ability to pass a DOT drug and alcohol screen
- Ability to pass a Physical
Benefits
Group Health Insurance
All full-time employees are eligible after 90 days of employment. The Company’s group health insurance plan is offered through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana Employees and eligible dependents may select coverage. Captains premium is 100% covered after 3 years of service.
Group Dental
All full-time employees are eligible after the required minimum days of employment The Company’s group dental plan is offered through MetLife Dental.
Basic Life
All full-time employees are eligible for Basic Life Coverage through United of Omaha Life Insurance Company after the required minimum days of employment. The amount of coverage is $15,000.00 paid for by Candy Fleet, L.L.C. (100%).
Voluntary Term Life Coverage Election
All full-time employees are offered Voluntary Term Life Coverage through United of Omaha Life Insurance Company after the required minimum days of employment.
Short Term/Long Term Disability – Life and Dependent Life
All full-time employees are offered Short Term/Long Term Disability – Life and Dependent Life through Hartford Life after the required minimum days of employment.
401(K) Plan
All full-time employees are offered a Retirement Plan through American Funds 401(K) after the required minimum days of employment.
Incentive Pay
All full-time employees are eligible for extra 3% of your daily wage. Employees are eligible after 90 days of employment and must meet the requirements to receive the incentive pay.
Gangway Pay
Employees permanently assigned to vessels with the gangway system will be paid an additional $20.00 per day while working on the vessels equipped with the gangway system.
Holiday Pay
Vessel employees working on vessels on New Year’s Day, 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas holidays will receive double day rate for the holiday.
